The Sea

The locations being used vary to fit the originals, so whilst not all being local to the NE we hope to capture the spirit of this strange place. From South Gare to Skinningrove, and Morecambe to Heysham on the other side, the mixed landscape and how it was sculpted along with the story is captured.

The Man

We have been lucky enough to secure the talents of Etan, Anna and James of course in the lead roles, but we cannot thank enough Pam Outen for agreeing to feature along with local hero Albert Van Heffon. Anthony i hope would be pleased that Albert finally got his chance. The Man indeed!

The Streets of Mulgrave

Re-imagining the layout of Mulgrave from the books to film has undertaken by Set designer Pete Weirdon. Soon after we started discussions on making the films in mid 2021, Pete was with us . We had originally intended to consult Anthony at our planned meeting Dec 2021. Sadly this was not to be of course.

Food

The role of food and its symbolic relationships throughout the film with the sense of character and place is key. In addition to Pete's layouts we have an entire catalogue of designs from MeatTheHeat, the kebab shop, through Olivers Place and ending after many with the JUSTMEAT delivery service. 

Coming Home

It was clear after reading about Anthonys own strange and somewhat troubled life, that finding the meaning to his early life and bringing home to a close was important to him. In making Mulgrave real we are trying to honour that desire whilst opening up this world to the new.
